Rob Lewis

Rob Lewis is an experienced professional in the cultural sector, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Transformation and Collections Care Manager at Birmingham Museums Trust since November 2016. Rob leads teams focused on managing and conserving a vast collection within a significant museum facility, supporting stewardship and utilization of nearly one million objects. Notably, Rob was part of the Clore Fellowship in Heritage from September 2022 to March 2023, aimed at developing leadership skills within the sector. Previous roles include Deputy Director of Conservation for the Qatar Museums Authority, where responsibilities included overseeing conservation aspects of museum development, and as Museum Market Manager at Tru Vue, enhancing communication and networking within the international museum community. Rob's foundational experience includes conservation roles at Glasgow Life, contributing to major museum redevelopment projects, and earlier project supervision in archaeology. Rob's academic background features a Master of Letters in Material Culture & Artefact Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Archaeological Conservation.
