The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN is a network of independent charities operating across the Balkans. Our mission is to help develop an active and independent media working to international standards and to report on events in the region without bias or favour. We also publish Belgrade Insight and Prishtina Insight, the only English language newspapers in their respective cities.

The Journalism and Research Team at BIRN conducts in-depth investigative journalism across the Balkans, producing unbiased reports on significant regional events. They are responsible for researching, verifying, and writing stories, as well as coordinating engagements and editing content. This team also contributes to and publishes the Belgrade Insight and Prishtina Insight newspapers, ensuring high journalistic standards and providing valuable insights into the region.

The team monitors development progress, strategizes future initiatives, and supports the publication of insightful reports and articles, maintaining the quality and independence of BIRN's media content.

The Administrative and Office Management team at BIRN ensures the smooth functioning of daily operations. The HR Officer manages staffing and employee relations, the Office Manager/Financial Administrator oversees financial transactions and office logistics, while the Administrative Officer handles general administrative tasks and support. This team collectively ensures that BIRN's infrastructure supports its mission of fostering independent and unbiased media in the Balkans.
