Karla Junicic

Karla Junicic is an experienced media professional currently serving as the Engagement Editor and Coordinator at the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) since October 2021, focusing on projects that support media independence and promote inclusive citizen engagement in investigative reporting across the Balkan and Visegrad regions. Prior to this role, Karla worked as a Correspondent and Journalist at HANZA MEDIA d.o.o. and EURACTIV, where detailed coverage of significant events and in-depth analysis of foreign affairs were produced. Additional experience includes a Press and PR internship at Dallas Music Records, a Publishing Sales Executive role at HANZA MEDIA, and a Hospitality Manager position at Valamar Riviera. Karla's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences Zagreb and a Bachelor's degree in Modern languages and cultures from Università degli Studi di Trieste, along with ongoing studies in Multimedia production and E-journalism at Izmir University of Economics Graduate School.
