Merima Softić is the Head of Operations at the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN), a position held since 2025. They previously served in various roles with the Danish Refugee Council from 2023 to 2025, including Regional Finance Manager and Finance Coordinator for Emergency Response. Merima’s earlier experience includes positions at ProCredit Bank, where they worked as an Advisor for Very Small Enterprises and as a Business Analyst, among others. They hold a degree in Accounting and Audit Management from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zenica, earned from 2008 to 2012.
