Laura Kassen has extensive work experience in the Jewish nonprofit sector. Laura began their career as a Corps Member at AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps in August 2012, where they participated in a yearlong AmeriCorps program focused on anti-poverty work and served as a literacy tutor for second graders in Manhattan.

In 2012, they also worked as a Program Assistant and Repair Communities Recruitment Fellow at Repair the World, where they assisted in outreach and recruitment efforts for the Repair the World Community Fellowship pilot. Laura played a role in designing communication materials, drafting emails for executive staff, and participating in the management selection process.

From September to December 2013, Laura worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on a contractual basis. Laura'sresponsibilities included coordinating their 50th Anniversary Gala, updating the organization's database, managing Gala attendance entries, and recruiting and coordinating volunteers.

Since March 2014, Laura has been employed at Birthright Israel Foundation, where they have held various positions. Laura started as an Administrative Assistant and then moved on to become the National Leadership Coordinator from June 2015 to October 2017. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating leadership development programs on a national scale. Laura then became an Associate Director of Leadership Development from January 2019 to August 2021, where they played a crucial role in developing and implementing leadership development initiatives.

Currently, Laura holds the position of Director of Leadership Development at Birthright Israel Foundation, a role they began in August 2021. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the organization's leadership development programs, cultivating a network of leaders, and facilitating leadership training opportunities.

Laura Kassen attended Dickinson College from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies.
