Alan McLelland has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field. Alan started their career at Schlumberger, where they worked as a Lead LWD Engineer onboard offshore jack-up and semi-sub drill rigs. Alan then joined Swick Dynamics as an M/LWD engineer, where they serviced land rigs and drilled dual lateral horizontal coal seam gas wells. Alan then worked as an M/LWD Engineer at Baker Huges Inteq, servicing land operations throughout Australia. Alan also has experience as a Wireline Engineer at Surtron Technologies. Later, they worked as a Leak Test Technician on a contractor basis at EnerMech, conducting leak testing at the Wheatstone LNG plant. Alan also worked as a Contractor Field Engineer at Halliburton, Sperry Drilling Services, where they worked on coal seam gas wells in Queensland. Alan then transitioned to IPI Packers, where they held the roles of Application Engineer and Senior Operations Engineer. Currently, they are a Field Engineer at BiSN.

Alan McLelland attended Strathallan Boarding School in Scotland from 2002 to 2004. During this time, they pursued a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing Systems.
