Oliver Dovey

Oliver Dovey currently serves as the Senior Director of the Department of Functional Genomics at bit.bio, a position held since September 2020. Prior to this role, Oliver Dovey was associated with the Wellcome Sanger Institute for four years, where responsibilities included Head of Functional Genomics and Head of Genetic Engineering. Oliver Dovey's earlier experience at the same institution also encompassed roles such as Staff Scientist and Head of High Throughput Gene Editing. Oliver Dovey began academic training at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute as a Laboratory Manager and Advanced Research Assistant while simultaneously pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Leicester from 2008 to 2012. Prior educational credentials include a degree in Human Physiology from the University of East London School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, obtained between 1998 and 2001.
