Matthew Le Merle is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Blockchain Coinvestors & Fifth Era, where they have been since 2004. Matthew launched the company in 2014 with the aim of providing coverage of emerging blockchain companies and crypto projects. Matthew has also served as the Chairman of Blockchain Coinvestors Acquisition Corp since 2020. In addition, they have held various advisory board director positions at ApplePie Capital, BitBull Capital, Bitwise Asset Management, BOWEI, and Spark Change. Prior to these roles, they were the Chairman of Concept Labs, the Managing Partner at Keiretsu Forum, and a member of YPO.

Matthew Le Merle began their education at Eltham College from 1973 to 1980. Matthew then attended the University of Oxford from 1981 to 1984, where they earned an MA in Geography with a Double First, Open Scholarship. Following that, they pursued an MBA at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, graduating in 1988 with a specialization in Business Administration. In 2013, they participated in the Stanford Directors' Consortium at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Additionally, they obtained a Short Course Certificate in Fine and Studio Arts - Oil Painting from the University of the Arts London in 2016 and a Short Course Certificate in Innovation in the Arts from the same institution in 2017. In 2018, they completed the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme, earning a Certificate in Blockchain Strategy from the University of Oxford Said Business School.
