Derek Peters

Derek Peters is a Senior Software Engineer at Bitsight, where contributions include the development of the award-winning Vulnerability Detection app and the creation of an internal management portal that secured victory in the 2023 Bitsight Hackathon. Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for microservices and developing data aggregation pipelines utilizing Airflow and PySpark on Amazon EMR is complemented by proficiency in frontend development with React and API design using Django Rest Framework, FastAPI, and Flask. Prior to Bitsight, Derek served as a Backend Developer at Wanna.com, Inc., focusing on backend models in Django, performance monitoring with AWS, and quality assurance testing, and as an Applications Engineer at DP Technology, where efforts included automating manufacturing processes and training customers, resulting in significant revenue generation. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
