Pedro Umbelino

Pedro Umbelino is a seasoned expert in information security with extensive experience spanning nearly two decades. Currently serving as a Principal Researcher at BitSight since September 2021, Pedro has made significant contributions as a writer for Hackaday since December 2016. Previously, Pedro held the position of Senior Security Researcher at Char49 from February 2017 to September 2021 and worked as a Senior Information Security Consultant at Ingalls Information Security, LLC during the same period. Additional roles include IT Security Researcher as a freelancer from January 2013 to September 2021, and serving as Chief Technology Officer at Curesec GmbH from October 2012 to October 2018. Pedro's career also includes founding Crazydog and managing the Exploit Database from 2010 to 2012, along with earlier experience as a System Administrator at Unilógica from 2003 to 2005. Pedro's educational background includes studies at Instituto Superior Técnico and participation in the Summer of Startups program.
