José Luis Rodríguez Valdez

José Luis Rodríguez Valdez is the current iOS Chapter Lead at Bitso. Prior to their current position, they served as a Sr. iOS Developer at Globant from August 2017 to February 2018, where they were in charge of developing features like transfer to other banks, service payments, saved accounts, token activation, and token generation. José also helped other teammates with some UI issues. From September 2015 to July 2017, they served as a Senior iOS Developer at Mercadoni, where they were in charge of the iOS app. After joining, they redesigned and rewrote the app from the ground to make it the best app to buy groceries in LATAM. After releasing the version 2.0, the iOS app became the principal source of Mercadoni clients, growing from 14% to almost 60% of all orders. Served more than 30K users a month and reached +99.5% free crash users. The iOS app got featured multiple times in the App Store (Mexico, Colombia, Argentina) , got a place in the local category for those countries and got a first page feature in Mexico App Store. Also increased the app rating from 2.5 to 4.5 stars. Prior to their position at Mercadoni, they served as an iOS Developer at Bridgefy from December 2014 to July 2015.

José Luis Rodríguez Valdez completed high school with a focus in math and physics at Centro Universitario México. José then went on to study computer engineering as a Bachelor of Engineering at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
