Gil Mejia

Gil Mejia has a diverse work experience in the field of design and advertising. Gil currently serves as the Director of Design and Development at BizIQ - Small Business Marketing since 2019. Prior to this, they ran their own business, Gil Mejia Design, since 2002, where they provided strategic design solutions, collaborated with clients and vendors, and managed production schedules and budgets. From 2014 to 2018, Gil worked as the Dean of Academic Affairs at The Art Institutes, overseeing program directors, faculty, and managing academic budgets. Before that, they held the position of Academic Director - Graphic & Web Design / Advertising at the same institution from 2002 to 2014. Gil also has experience in the print industry, having worked at The Record from 1991 to 2002 as a Graphic Designer and Art Director, and at Guitar Center as a Graphic Designer in the Corporate Advertising Department from 1990 to 1991. Gil started their career in 1988 as an Independent Graphic Designer.

Gil Mejia obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University, completing the program between 1985 and 1988. Following their undergraduate studies, Mejia pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Argosy University, from 2005 to 2007.
