Howard Epstein

Howard Epstein is currently serving as the Associate Medical Director for Hospice & Palliative Care at BJC HealthCare since October 2023. Epstein has extensive experience in medical leadership, including roles as Medical Director at Hospice of New Mexico and Vice President & Chief Medical Officer at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Previously held senior positions at PreferredOne and BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, focusing on clinical programs and quality management. Epstein also contributed to the Society of Hospital Medicine as a Board Member and served as Chief Health Systems Officer at the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Washington University in St. Louis and an internal medicine residency from the University of Minnesota. Furthering expertise in health leadership and policy, Epstein is a Certified Health Insurance Executive from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
