Dr. Osman Hamid

Dr. Osman Hamid serves as the Managing Director of Ontario Tech Brilliant Ventures since October 2023 and the Founding Director of Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Ontario Tech University since October 2019, where efforts focus on creating an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurial innovation, achieving over $2 million in non-government grant revenue and supporting more than 160 startups. Dr. Hamid holds multiple roles including Fellow at BKR Capital and Founding Program Director for Shad Canada at Ontario Tech University, and has taught innovation management as a Sessional Lecturer at Ontario Tech University and Toronto Metropolitan University. Previous experience includes leadership positions at Ryerson University, where Dr. Hamid implemented various successful student engagement initiatives and raised significant funding for programs. Dr. Hamid’s academic background includes a Doctor of Education from Western University, a Certificate in Venture Finance from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, an MBA in Global Management, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, along with an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance from Seneca Polytechnic.
