Prof David Mitchell serves as the Chief Psychiatrist of the Northern Territory at NT Health since October 2022. In addition, David Mitchell contributes to WorkSafe Victoria as a member of the Expert Clinical Panel in Psychiatry and has been the Founder of the Fellowship Frameworks program at Esler Health since February 2016, focusing on preparing psychiatric registrars for specialist examinations. As a facilitator for the Black Dog Institute, David Mitchell delivers educational programs on mood and affective illnesses to medical practitioners and allied health professionals across Australia. David Mitchell previously held various roles, including Lead Psychiatrist at Royal Darwin Hospital and Austin Health, and consultant psychiatrist at Northpark Private Hospital. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University, a Master of Public Health from The University of Queensland, and fellowships in Psychiatry and General Practice Medicine from relevant medical colleges.
