Black Girls CODE
Isabella Thurmond is a skilled and experienced individual with a background in various technology and engineering-related roles. With a passion for computer science, Isabella has held positions as a Software Programming Intern at Shutterstock, an AI Intern at AI4ALL, and a participant in Google's Computer Science Summer Institute. Isabella has also been involved in educational programs such as iD Tech Camps and Children's Innovation Center, where Isabella honed their skills in coding and innovation. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science at San Francisco State University, Isabella's qualities include customer satisfaction, time management, organization, fashion marketing, business management, research, trend tracking, and data-driven decision making.
Black Girls CODE
Black Girls CODE is a global movement. Founded in 2011, the San Francisco based nonprofit introduces young girls of color, ages 6-17, to computer programming, electrical engineering, mobile app development, robotics and other STEM fields. In 2012 the nonprofit launched in 10 cities nationwide and expanded to South Africa. Voted as "2012 Most Innovative Nonprofit" by Bank of the West, the nonprofit continues to expand and empower hundreds of girls worldwide.
