Jim Hallenbeck

Jim Hallenbeck is an experienced legal and business professional currently serving as President & CEO of Black Hills AI since October 2022. Previously, Jim held roles as General Counsel and EVP Sales at Black Hills AI and served on the Board of Directors for the Intellectual Property Owners Association Education Foundation from January 2020 to January 2024. Jim's legal career includes over two decades as a Principal and Attorney at Schwegman, Lundberg, & Woessner, P.A., and notable positions in various intellectual property law associations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Iowa Intellectual Property Law Association, where Jim acted as President. Early career experience includes roles in computer programming and analysis at several companies, including ECMC Group, Inc., and Electronic Data Systems, as well as military service as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Jim holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a BS in Computer Information Systems from Chapman University.
