Gang Yao

Gang Yao is a Senior Software Engineer specializing in AI perception software at Black Sesame Technologies Inc since December 2022. Prior to this role, Gang served as a Senior Software Engineer at UBTECH Robotics from May 2021 to November 2022. Gang's early experience includes a position as a Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut from May 2015 to January 2021, contributing to projects in the Robotics and Control Lab, and a Research Intern position at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories in the summer of 2020, focusing on object tracking and perception for autonomous driving. Gang earned a Ph.D. in Information, Communication, Decision, and Biosystems (Electrical and Computer Engineering) from the University of Connecticut from 2017 to 2020 and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution from 2014 to 2017.
