Perception Research Scientist at Black Sesame Technologies

Shuang Wu has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. They are currently working as a Perception Research Scientist at Black Sesame Technologies Inc since 2021. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist at ByteDance from 2020 to 2021.

Prior to their industry work, they served as a Research Officer at the Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they developed machine learning algorithms for automated locomotion tracking in drosophila as part of the Machine Learning for Bioimage Analysis Group.

Shuang Wu also worked as an Academic Tutor at the National University of Singapore from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Intern at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering in 2015, focusing on theoretical modeling in microelectromechanical systems.

Before that, Shuang Wu worked as a Research Intern at ETH Zürich in 2014, where they contributed to the R&D of the double phase argon time projection chamber and investigated the effects of a prevailing electric field on the slow scintillation component of liquid argon.

Their work experience began with a Summer Internship at SNECI in 2013.

Shuang Wu's education history begins in 2010 when they enrolled at the National University of Singapore for their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. They completed their undergraduate studies in 2015.

Following that, Wu pursued further education at École Polytechnique, where they studied Particle Physics and obtained the degree of Ingénieur Polytechnicien. This took place from 2011 to 2015.

In 2015, Wu enrolled at the National University of Singapore again, this time for a Master of Science degree in Particle Physics. They completed this program in 2017.

Most recently, from 2018 to 2021, Wu attended Nanyang Technological University in Singapore for their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science.

Overall, Shuang Wu's educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Physics, a Master's degree in Particle Physics, and a Doctorate in Computer Science.
