Jason Kerstein has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Jason started their career in 2002 at Stone's Throw Winery as the Director of Sales. In 2009, they joined Pinnacle Wine Distributors as the Director of Sales until 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they worked at Blue's Egg and Story Hill BKC as the General Manager. In 2013, they also took on the role of Director of Beverage at Black Shoe Hospitality where they later became the Director of Operations in 2018. Currently, they are serving as the Managing Partner at Blue's Egg Restaurant, a position they have held since 2020.
Jason Kerstein attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.

Black Shoe represents the thoughtful preparation and honest hard work behind the genuine hospitality of its Milwaukee-area restaurants: Maxie's, Blue's Egg, Story Hill BKC, and Buttermint Finer Dining & Cocktails. Black Shoe operates its own Black Shoe Bakery, servicing its restaurants and retail clients, and creating desserts and artisanal breads. Black Shoe Catering brings inspiration from its restaurants to parties, weddings, and events throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. Black Shoe Hospitality has been named to the Journal-Sentinel’s Top Workplaces since 2015. All of our restaurants enjoy regular billing on the “best of” lists from the Shepherd Express, Milwaukee Magazine, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, OnMilwaukee.com, Yelp, and TripAdvisor.
