Avanthi Moodliar

Avanthi Moodliar has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Avanthi is currently working as a Senior Insights Project Manager at Black Swan Data since September 2020. Prior to that, they co-founded Nila Nyanga in July 2020. Avanthi also worked as a Consumer Insight & Innovation Specialist at Deepsight Innovation starting from June 2020.

From 2014 to 2020, Avanthi worked at Lacuna Innovation in multiple roles. Avanthi was the Head of Consumer & Innovation Projects from April 2017 to May 2020, Senior Innovation & Insights Lead from August 2016 to April 2017, and Immersive Insights Researcher from March 2014 to August 2016.

Before joining Lacuna Innovation, they worked as a Field Researcher at Sagaci Research from May 2013 to January 2014, and as a Junior Researcher at Kaiser Associates Economic Development Practice from January 2013 to May 2013.

Avanthi Moodliar's education history began in 2007 when they enrolled at the University of the Western Cape. Avanthi pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, and Language and Communication studies, which they completed in 2009. In 2011, Avanthi returned to the University of the Western Cape to further their studies and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology. After a few years, in 2015, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for their Summer Methods Programme, where they focused on Ethnographic Methods and Practice.
