Mark Sommers

Prior to Blackhawk, over the past 5 years, Mark was with Anixter and HD Supply where he was leading their Public Power Utility business in the United States. He also led the Category Management team for two years and helped transition the supplier relationships and agreements into the Anixter organizations Previous to HD Supply, Mark was with Crescent Electric Supply, a $1B family owned electrical distributor. Mark was the Vice President-Eastern Region which was comprised of 35 locations stretching from Illinois through Western PA and over to NYC. Crescent acquired 3 family owned companies during Mark’s tenure so he is well versed in helping people and organizations make the adjustments to new owners. Prior to Crescent Electric, Mark had a 20 year career with General Electric, including 9 years in GE Supply as General Manager – Northeast Ohio District and Vice President of Sourcing & Inventory Management. Mark’s GE career also included 5 years in GE Appliances and 6 years in GE Motors. He is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program and has significant experience in sales, operations, purchasing, customer service and finance. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame.
