Samuel Silva

Samuel Silva, Ph.D., is a Computer Vision Engineer at Blackmagic Design since September 2021, with a previous role as a Graduate Research Fellow at The University of Texas at San Antonio from January 2017 to September 2021, where research focused on adversarial image purification and privacy-preserving algorithms for real-time object identification. Prior experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Notre Dame from August 2014 to August 2016, concentrating on control systems and decentralized algorithms for quadrotors and ground vehicles. Earlier positions include Product Engineer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles from April 2013 to July 2014 and a Research and Development Internship at Valeo from October 2011 to December 2012. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, an M.Sc. from the University of Notre Dame, and a degree in Mechatronics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
