Mark McKenna

Mark McKenna is the Founder and Global Head of Event Driven Alternative Strategies at BlackRock, where they manage a suite of funds exceeding $15 billion. Previously, McKenna served as a Managing Director at Harvard Management Company and a Vice President in Mergers and Acquisitions at Salomon Smith Barney, advising on over $100 billion in corporate activity. They also held the position of Portfolio Manager at Caxton Associates, focusing on event-driven strategies. McKenna's early career included service as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, where they were a qualified Submarine Officer and received multiple achievement medals. They currently serve on the Board of Jazz at Lincoln Center while pursuing an MBA in Finance from New York University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York Maritime College.
