Tomoko Ueda is the Chief Operating Officer for APAC at BlackRock, a position they assumed in September 2024, while also serving as the APAC Head of Corporate Strategy & Development. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2022, they were the Head of Strategy and Finance for Nikko Asset Management. With 16 years of investment banking experience, Tomoko has advised clients on capital raising and mergers & acquisitions and has held significant roles at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. They started their career at the United Nations and have worked in various global markets, fluent in English, Japanese, and French, and focused on fostering innovation and collaboration in the workplace. Tomoko is currently pursuing a BA in History/French at the University of Pennsylvania.
