April Walker

April Walker is a seasoned machine learning and computer vision engineer with extensive experience in optimizing models for diverse data distributions and enhancing training pipelines at BlackSky. With a progression from Jr. Machine Learning Engineer to Sr. Machine Learning Engineer, April has successfully reworked detection and classification models, interfaced with AWS for dataset management, and implemented innovative data handling techniques utilizing tools such as PyTorch Lightning and ClearML. Prior experience includes roles as a machine learning consultant at Nectar Labs, teaching assistant and researcher at the University of Arkansas, and internships at The Hartford and L3Harris Technologies. April holds a Master of Science in Statistics and Analytics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Computational) from the University of Arkansas.
