Rick Bangs is an accomplished Project Manager and Patient Advocate with extensive experience in enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within cancer research and clinical trials. Currently serving at SWOG Cancer Research Network, Rick has led initiatives such as the design and deployment of a membership profile application focused on DEI metrics and the implementation of strategies to improve diversity among clinical trial participants. As a member of various committees, including the National Cancer Institute and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Rick advocates for patient engagement and addresses health-related social needs in cancer care. Rick holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BS from Trinity College-Hartford, complemented by a robust career in both the cancer research field and IT management across multiple industries.
