Bryan Safarik has a diverse work experience in the field of technical art and game development. Bryan started their career in 1997 as a 3D Animator and Digital Artist at Virtual Images. Bryan then worked as a 3D artist at Acclaim Entertainment, where they designed and developed artwork for console-based games. Bryan also created Maya-based script tools to streamline the 3D development pipeline.
In 2001, Bryan joined Avalanche Software as a Technical Artist, responsible for designing and implementing artwork for console and PC games. Bryan also developed custom artist tools to simplify game development processes. After that, they worked at In Your Garage LLC as a DVD Developer, Operations Manager, and Co-Owner, before joining Disney Interactive Studios as a Technical Artist.
At Disney, Bryan contributed to the design and development of artwork for games until 2011. Bryan then joined Electronic Arts as a Technical Artist, focusing on enhancing the Sims3 EP art pipeline efficiency and artist productivity by designing and developing scripted tools for Maya. Bryan also implemented pipeline tools in various programming languages.
In 2013, Bryan became the Technical Art Director at MyRooms Inc., where they managed the 3D art and animation pipelines. Bryan developed Maya tools, performed character rigging, and integrated Unity Mecanim system. Bryan later joined MetaTeq as a Principal Technical Artist, where they contributed to various technical art projects.
Since 2014, Bryan has been working at Pipeworks Software as a Principal Technical Artist, responsible for art content pipeline tools, shaders, animation system design, in-game and cinematic camera implementations, and facilitating communication between art and engineering teams.
Currently, Bryan Safarik holds the role of Senior Technical Artist at Bladework Games, where they focus on UE-centric tech art tasks.
Bryan Safarik has a strong educational background in the field of technology. Bryan completed their undergraduate studies at Iowa State University from 1986 to 1991, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Following their bachelor's degree, they pursued further studies in Computer Science at the National Technical University from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a Master of Science degree. Bryan later expanded their knowledge by studying Instructional Technology at Utah State University from 1995 to 1997, earning a second Master of Science degree in Computer Science.
