Ivan Nunez

Ivan Nunez has a diverse work experience in the finance industry. Ivan is currently the Head of Infrastructure & Project Finance at Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior S.A. (Bladex), a position they have held since 2022.

Prior to their current role, Ivan worked at CIFI - Corporación Interamericana para el Financiamiento de Infraestructura, S.A. from 2016 to 2022. During this time, they served as the Head of Portfolio Management and also as the Director of Structured and Project Finance. In these positions, they were responsible for origination and structuring of debt and mezzanine infrastructure for CIFI's portfolio and third-party investors. Ivan also provided leadership to investment teams and advised top management on strategic decision making.

Before joining CIFI, Ivan worked at the Inter American Development Bank from 2008 to 2016 as an Investment Officer specializing in infrastructure finance. Ivan played a key role in structuring financing for projects with a total value exceeding US$ 1.0bn and managed the Energy Efficiency Guarantee Mechanism.

In addition to these roles, Ivan has gained valuable experience through their previous positions at ING Barings Brazil as an M&A Summer Associate, Morgan Stanley as an Associate, and Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. as an M&A Analyst.

Overall, Ivan Nunez has demonstrated expertise in infrastructure and project finance, portfolio management, investment structuring, and strategic decision making throughout their career.

Ivan Nunez has a Master of Arts degree in International Studies - Emerging Markets from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), which they obtained from 2005 to 2007. Before that, they pursued a Masters degree in International Business and Trade at ICEX-CECO, graduating in 2005. Ivan also holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (E-2, ADE) from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, which they earned between 1994 and 1999. In addition, they completed coursework in Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1995.

Outside of their academic achievements, Ivan has obtained two certifications: a Black Belt (Shodan) in Aikido from the International Aikido Federation, acquired in December 2018, and an SFA (Securities and Finance Authority of the United Kingdom) certification, received in September 2000.
