James Jr Tankersley

James Jr Tankersley has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering and development. James Jr is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer, Lead at Blain's Farm & Fleet since August 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at Paradigm as a Senior Software Developer from January 2020 to June 2021. From June 2018 to January 2020, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Healthgrades.

In their earlier career, Tankersley worked at SwanLeap as the Director of Applications from May 2016 to May 2018. Their responsibilities included designing and developing various components such as EDI to JSON conversion engine, front-end user interface, back-end APIs, analytics, and web frameworks. Before that, Tankersley worked as a Software Engineer at Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation from May 2009 to May 2011. James Jr was responsible for designing and developing a T-SQL/SSRS based data warehouse system as well as ASP.NET and Drupal-based business systems.

Tankersley began their career at Stratagem, Inc as a Software Engineer and Business Analyst from June 2001 to March 2009. James Jr designed and developed multiple systems, including sales person commission systems, and carried out data migrations from mainframe to IBM DB2 database for a large State of Wisconsin .NET system.

James Jr also gained experience as a Software Engineer and Business Analyst at Intellimark Inc from 1998 to 2001, where they designed and developed web-based business systems using technologies such as ASP.NET, Java, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM DB2 databases.

Earlier in their career, Tankersley worked as a Software Engineer at HNC Software from 1994 to 1998 and served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1989 to 1992.

James Jr Tankersley obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 1983 to 1988. Currently, they are a Graduate Student pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology starting in 2023. James Jr also holds additional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals, obtained in 2023, React: ES6, ES2016, and Beyond from LinkedIn, obtained in 2020, and Mensa certification from American Mensa in 2008.
