Sophie Le Blanc

Head of Business Development at Blaise Transit

Sophie Le Blanc has extensive work experience in the transit industry. Sophie is currently the Head of Business Development at Blaise Transit, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Business Development Lead and was responsible for partnerships and business development at Transit from May 2017 to November 2022.

Sophie also has experience in various leadership roles within industry associations. Sophie served as a Board Member for the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) starting in October 2022, and as a Board Member for the Ontario Public Transit Association starting in June 2022. In addition, they were the Chair of the Statistics Committee at CUTA from April 2019 to March 2021, where they led committee meetings and provided strategic direction.

Before their roles in business development and industry associations, Sophie gained experience as a Junior Research Officer at Transport Canada - Transports Canada from January 2017 to April 2017. Sophie also had an intern role as a Project Management Intern at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) from May 2016 to April 2017, where they supported construction projects and ensured the quality of work conducted.

Sophie's early work experiences include an intern role as an Urban Planning Intern at the Ministère des Transports du Québec from May 2014 to May 2016, where they analyzed project proposals and reconciled public transit subsidy files. Sophie also worked as a Payment Services Officer at Service Canada from May 2013 to April 2014, where they provided client support and detailed information regarding pension plans. Their first job was as a Clerk at Federated Press from September 2012 to May 2013, where they handled administrative tasks and assisted with course and conference preparation.

Sophie Le Blanc completed their Master's Degree in Urban Planning at McGill University from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree with Honours and Specialization in Urban Planning with distinction from Concordia University, although the specific start year is not provided.
