Alex Marshall has a diverse work experience timeline. Starting in 2010, Alex worked as a Seconded Trainee at Wellcome Trust. This was followed by a role as a Trainee Solicitor at CMS Cameron McKenna from March 2010 to February 2012. From 2012 to 2014, Alex worked as an Associate at Baker Botts. In 2015, Alex joined Thomson Reuters, where they held various positions, including Account Manager, Senior Information Solutions Consultant, and E-Solutions Consultant. In 2017, Alex transitioned to Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, initially as a Pricing Counsel and later becoming the Director of Client Value. Additionally, Alex has been a member of CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) since October 2020, serving on the Law Department Maturity Assessment and Planning Committee (LDMap).

Alex Marshall completed their LL.B degree in Law from BPP Law School from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Politics from The University of Edinburgh from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they attended the City University of Hong Kong from 2005 to 2006. Alex Marshall has also obtained various certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification, Accredited Legal Pricing Professional (ALPP), Legal Pricing Masterclass, White Belt Certification in Legal Lean Sigma® and Project Management, and Called to the Ontario Bar.
