James Sarjeant

James Sarjeant has a diverse work experience, starting with their most recent role as the New Store Delivery & Compliance Director at Blank Street since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Blank Street from June 2022 to March 2023.

Before joining Blank Street, James held various positions at Black Sheep Coffee, including Brand & Operations Director from April 2020 to March 2022 and Brand & Franchise Director from March 2019 to April 2020. James also served as the Head of Brand & Franchise from October 2018 to February 2019, where they were responsible for ensuring compliance, operational efficiencies, and managing franchise operations in the UK and abroad.

James gained experience as an Advisor at Trailsuite Ltd from March 2017 to March 2020.

From 2014 to 2018, they worked at itsu, where they had multiple roles, including Vice President Property, Compliance & Quality [US] from August 2017 to September 2018, Head of Health & Safety, Compliance & Quality [US] from July 2016 to August 2017, and Health & Safety Manager from May 2014 to December 2016. At itsu, James was involved in bringing the itsu concept to the USA, overseeing compliance with legal requirements, and ensuring the continuity of food and equipment quality.

James also has experience as the Head of Compliance and Account Manager at Shieldyourself from February 2013 to April 2014 and July 2012 to February 2013, respectively, where they managed key and high-profile accounts and provided expertise in health and safety, food safety, and fire safety.

Furthermore, James worked as an Independent Consultant at JK Food & Safety from January 2011 to September 2013, where they were responsible for water safety and management at various festivals.

James'searly career includes a position as the Principal Environmental Health Officer at the London Borough of Islington from May 2007 to July 2012.

James Sarjeant has a diverse education history. In 1999, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc Hons) in Environmental Health at Kings College London, University of London. Following this, from 2002 to 2003, they attended Canterbury Christ Church University to earn a Postgraduate Advanced Certificate in Public Health Practice. Lastly, from 2015 to 2017, James enrolled in the National Compliance & Risk Qualification program, where they obtained a Diploma in Applied Health & Safety.
