Joel Mellon

Joel Mellon's work experience begins with their role as the Lead Software Engineer for Blast Motion, Inc., where they served as the development team lead and collaborated with DevOps and cloud engineers to migrate the infrastructure to Amazon Web Services. Joel introduced a progressive delivery development workflow and spearheaded an initiative to improve front- and back-end performance. Joel also worked extensively with product, project, and program management teams.

Prior to Blast Motion, Joel worked as a Software Architect for a stealth mode startup on a contract basis, where they architected microservice oriented APIs and extended Laravel Queues. Joel championed a unit testing culture and played a leadership role within the team.

Joel's previous roles include Senior Software Engineer at Lettuce Box, Inc., Software Engineer at ThreatSTOP, and Web Developer and Payment Gateway Specialist at InstaPAY International. Joel also worked as a Web Developer at Web Assist and Admit One Products, Inc.

Joel Mellon attended Valley Center High School until 2001. After high school, they enrolled in Palomar College from 2001 to 2003, where they focused on Political Science and Economics.
