About the role
The service technician/fitter role supports & drives the Darwin sales & rental success by completing service projects, supervising installations, maintaining rental equipment, fitting up components, and providing technical support to maximise service department revenue.
Key responsibilities include delivering timely and quality repairs, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the sales team & warehouse operations as needed. The role is based in Darwin and may require travel within the Northern Territory and other states. A service tech Ute with moderate private use privileges is provided.
Key responsibilities:
Maintenance, Repairs & Service of Customer’s & BlastOne’s Rental Equipment, as well as manage equipment maintenance schedules - maintain accurate service records.
Assist with warehouse and customer service duties as required from time to time, especially in busy periods.
Fit up & test industrial equipment, hoses including commissioning & installation.
Receive and initiate communication with customers (internally and externally) about maintenance and repairs of equipment - both in house and on-site.
Troubleshoot over the phone.
Attend, arrange, and coordinate attendance to repair/maintain equipment on work sites.
Be available to provide 'hands-on' assistance & demonstrations for the Sales team as required.
Check-in/ Check-out & coordinate/oversee rental equipment in preparation for dispatch, as well as check over returned hire equipment and complete job cards.
Assist as required with warehouse operations & manage / Coordinate industrial Equipment delivery.
Perform basic steel fabrication and repairs.
Track input of hours & parts usage into ERP system.
About you
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting abilities, and mechanical aptitude.
High attention to detail, efficiency, and an innovative mindset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build good customer relationships.
Understanding of OHS regulations and equipment maintenance experience.
Proactive, presentable, and willing to go the extra mile.
Experience with pneumatics and preferably diesel mechanics.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Ability to identify and communicate economic value effectively.
Appropriate trade qualifications and a current driver’s license.
Willingness to undertake training for working at heights, platforms, site safety, forklift operation, and confined spaces.
