Lead Systems Engineer at Blatchford

Vladimir Nashchekin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Vladimir began their career as a Gymnastics Instructor at Dynamics Gymnastics, where they coached gymnasts of different age groups. Vladimir then worked as a Shadowing Optical Engineer at the Gurdon Institute, Cambridge University, assisting with the building of high-resolution fluorescence light microscopes.

Following this, Vladimir joined ENACTUS SHEFFIELD LIMITED as an International Innovation Team Member, where they conducted feasibility analysis for social and commercial enterprises and collaborated with NGOs worldwide. Vladimir also worked as a Maths and Engineering Tutor at Lite Regal Education and Lite Regal International College, delivering lessons to students ranging from pre-GCSE to AS and A-level.

In 2017, Vladimir served as the Lead Engineer for the Biomaker Challenge, leading a team in developing a low-cost system for antibiotic resistance gene detection. Vladimir was responsible for designing and assembling hardware systems and coding an Arduino microcontroller. Vladimir also participated in the HackMed Hackathon as a Hacker, developing a website for physiotherapy patients using accelerometers for exercise effectiveness analysis.

In 2018, Vladimir worked as a Medical Devices Consultant at TTP plc, focusing on advising and consulting on medical devices. Vladimir later joined BD as an Investigation Engineer, where they conducted investigations related to medical devices. Most recently, Vladimir is employed as a Testing and Validation Engineer at Occuity.

In 2023, Vladimir will take on the role of Lead Systems Engineer at Blatchford, showcasing their skills and leadership capabilities in the field of systems engineering.

Vladimir Nashchekin earned an MEng in Bioengineering with a Year in industry from The University of Sheffield between 2015 and 2020. Prior to that, they attended Hills Road Sixth Form College from 2013 to 2015, where they studied Maths, Further Maths, and Natural Sciences. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications, including Advanced Part and Surfacing Design, Additive Manufacturing Optimization, and Lean Six Sigma, among others. Vladimir has also completed a First Aid training course provided by the British Red Cross in August 2022.
