Essa Reijmers

Essa Reijmers is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy advising and research within the social services and animal welfare sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor and Coordinator of the Network for Women's Shelters and Research at Valente since June 2020, Essa also holds a longstanding position at Blijf Groep since 1998, where roles have included Advisor for Innovation & Development and Head of Policy. Additionally, Essa has been a dedicated volunteer at Stichting AAP since 2003, focusing on animal rescue and welfare in collaboration with French-speaking organizations. Past positions include work as a community worker at the Marokkaanse Vrouwen Vereniging Nederland and as a junior researcher at Vrije Universiteit. Essa's educational background includes studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
