Jan Marek

Software engineer, Machine learning engineer at Blindspot AI

Jan Marek has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Jan started their career in 1999 as a part-time developer at SilverStream Software while studying at university. Jan gained experience in J2EE application servers and web development.

In 2002, Jan Marek joined Alfa Consult SA as a developer and consultant, where they worked on various large-scale software projects in Europe and the Middle East. Jan utilized technologies such as Java, databases, web development, and J2EE.

From 2004 to 2009, they worked at Selima Limited, a major vendor of HR and payroll software in the UK. During their tenure, Jan participated in a long-term project to modernize legacy systems, leveraging technologies such as Java and XML stack.

In 2012, Jan joined Deutsche Börse as a developer and team lead, contributing to software development initiatives until 2015.

Starting in 2016, they worked at Urbandroid Team as a data scientist and developer. Their focus was on machine learning, signal processing, and integrating algorithms into health-related mobile apps.

In 2009, Jan started their personal project in algorithmic trading research and implementation, where they developed their own backtesting engine, live trading engine, and a suite of trading algorithms.

Currently, since November 2021, Jan is a software engineer and machine learning engineer at Blindspot Solutions.

Jan Marek attended Gymnázium Vyškov from 1990 to 1995. Jan did not pursue a specific degree or field of study during this time. Following that, they enrolled at Charles University from 1995 to 2002. At Charles University, they obtained a degree known as Mgr in the field of Computer Science.
