Aaliyah Atavia Reed Gibson is currently a South Side Reporter covering Englewood, Auburn Gresham and Chatham for Block Club Chicago NFP. With a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Aaliyah has gained experience in various roles such as being a Freelance Contributor for various publications, a Suburban News Reporter at Chicago Tribune Media Group, an Editor/Designer at Tribune Publishing Company, and a Digital Media Strategist at Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, Aaliyah has worked as a Collegiate Correspondent at USA TODAY and as a Production Intern at VICE Media.
