Brandon Barry

Brandon Barry has had a diverse career in the automotive security industry. In 2012, they began as an Intern at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, where they performed software testing and development, and built a custom knowledge base to interface with end users. In 2014, they became the CEO of Block Harbor Cybersecurity, one of the first companies in the space of vehicle cybersecurity, building solutions following the Jeep hack. Brandon then joined the Automotive Security Research Group (ASRG) in 2018, where they held the roles of North American Lead, United States Lead, and Chapter Founder/Lead. As North American Lead, they were responsible for managing chapters across North America, and as United States Lead, they were responsible for managing chapters across the United States. As Chapter Founder/Lead, they presented on key topics in automotive security and sought sponsorship to fund research projects and other endeavors.

Brandon Barry attended Brown University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. In 2017, they also attended The University of Auckland for a year of Computer Engineering. In addition, they obtained certifications from (ISC)² as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional in February 2019, from Rapid7 as a Metasploit Pro Certified Speciality, and from Tenable Network Security as a Tenable Certified Nessus User.
