Ashton McCrate

Ashton McCrate is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in infrastructure services and financial crimes tooling at Block since October 2022. Prior experience includes roles at ActBlue Technical Services from May 2018 to April 2022, serving as a senior engineer focused on developer experience, an engineering manager for the payments team, and a senior software engineer in payments. Ashton worked as a software engineer at Airbnb from September 2016 to April 2018, and prior to that, held a software developer position at Cozy from March 2014 to September 2016. Additional early career experiences include roles at Saturday Academy as an enrollment coordinator and marketing assistant, at SCRAP as a social media and marketing volunteer, at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry as a volunteer services intern, and as a customer service assistant in the adventure recreation department at the University of Illinois Campus Recreation. Ashton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Sport and Tourism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned in 2011.
