Karen Gerding

Karen Gerding has over 20 years of experience in the field of plant tissue culture, breeding, and research. Karen has held roles such as lead auditor for quality and processes at Bloembollenkeuringsdienst BKD, manager of tissue plant production laboratory at Anthura B.V., and manager of tissue culture laboratory at Iribov BV. Karen has also worked as a researcher at SBW International BV and GenVar Vitro BV, as well as a research assistant in seed health at Syngenta Seeds. Throughout their career, they have specialized in developing protocols, optimizing production processes, and supporting breeding activities in the greenhouse and laboratory settings.

Karen Gerding began their education at Alberdingk Thijm College in Hilversum, where they obtained their HAVO diploma. Karen then pursued studies in Bloementeelt, boomteelt en alternatieve tuinbouw at Middelbare Tuinbouwschool Houten from 1989 to 1991. Subsequently, Karen completed their Bsc in Plantbiotechnology at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences from 1992 to 1996.
