Michael OBrien has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2003 as a Research Assistant at Reed Institute of Decision Science. Michael then became an Engineer Intern at Raytheon in 2004, and a Software Engineering Intern at Aerospace Corporation in 2006. In 2008, they began their role as Adjunct Professor Mathematics at Claremont McKenna College, which they held until 2011. From 2008 to 2015, they were a Research Scientist at HRL Laboratories, LLC. In 2015, they became a Principal Data Scientist at Neural Analytics. In 2021, they assumed the roles of Director of Machine Learning and Data Analytics at Blacklight Surgical, Inc. and Project Scientist at Cedars-Sinai. Michael currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at BLOK SPORTS.
Michael OBrien obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from Claremont McKenna College in 2005. Michael then earned a Masters in Mathematics from UCLA in 2006. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics and Computational Neuroscience from UCLA in 2013.
