Andy Smith

Andy Smith has a diverse range of work experience, spanning over 19 years. Andy is currently the VP of Engineering at Bloom Coaching, a role they started in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at LifeWorks from 2018 to 2022, holding various positions such as Senior Director of Engineering, Director of Engineering, and Head of Web Development (React/Redux). At LifeWorks, Andy was responsible for overseeing the development of a total well-being digital platform and managing a team of 60+ engineers. Before joining LifeWorks, they worked at AKQA from 2007 to 2018, where they held positions such as Director of Web Development, Technical Architect/Senior Technical Architect, Technical Delivery Manager, and Senior Web Developer. During their time at AKQA, Andy managed and mentored teams of web developers, led high-risk projects, and explored new web technologies. Prior to AKQA, they worked at You at Work as a Full Stack Developer and at Head Software International in an Implementation and Support role. In these positions, Andy developed websites, created flexible benefits shopping systems, and represented the company at trade shows. Overall, Andy has extensive experience in engineering leadership, web development, and technical management.

Andy Smith attended Reigate College from 1998 to 2000 before pursuing further education at the University of Essex from 2000 to 2003. At the University of Essex, Andy earned a BSc degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering.
