Sharath Pankanti

Sharath Pankanti is a highly experienced professional in the field of data science and computer vision, currently serving as Vice President of Data Science at Bloom Value Corporation since December 2022. Since November 2020, Sharath has held the position of Principal Scientist at Microsoft. Prior roles include Principal Research Staff Member at IBM Research Cognitive Computing Department since July 2015 and Research Scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from February 2007 to November 2020, where responsibilities involved developing cost-sensitive systems with cameras and sensors to enhance business value for clients. Sharath also contributed to large-scale systems in the Exploratory Computer Vision Group from May 1995 to February 2007. Sharath's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan State University and an M.Tech in Computer Science from Hyderabad Central University, along with early career experience as a lecturer in electrical and electronics engineering at Shyamlal Engineering College.
