Ellen M. Gilmer

Ellen M. Gilmer is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in reporting on legal, environmental, and national security issues. Currently serving as a Senior Reporter at Bloomberg Government since June 2021, Ellen focuses on federal policy related to immigration and counterterrorism, covering major agencies within the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to this role, Ellen was a Senior Legal Reporter at Bloomberg Law, where the reporting concentrated on environmental and energy litigation in federal courts. Ellen's career began at Current Publishing in 2008 and progressed through various positions, including legal editor and reporter at E&E News, where coverage included environmental litigation trends and the judiciary. Ellen holds a Master's degree in Environmental Law from Lewis & Clark Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Spanish from Ball State University.
