Ben Otto has a diverse background in journalism, holding key positions at various esteemed organizations. Otto served as the Editor for International News and Opinion at The Jakarta Globe from November 2008 to February 2012. Subsequently, Otto worked at Dow Jones from August 2013 to August 2019, taking on roles such as Wall Street Journal Southeast Asia Correspondent, Senior Editor for Breaking News, and Deputy Bureau Chief for Indonesia. After leaving Dow Jones, Otto became a Visiting Lecturer in Journalism at Yale-NUS College from January 2020 to May 2021. Currently, Otto is the Bureau Chief at Bloomberg, having started in January 2025. Otto holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colby College and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa.
