Pratik Karia

Pratik Karia has over 15 years of experience in engineering and software development, currently serving as the Head of Engineering for the Buyside Trading Platform at Bloomberg LP since June 2008. In this role, Pratik oversees the AIM (Asset and Investment Manager) Engineering team, which creates comprehensive trading platforms for diverse asset classes utilized by institutional firms managing trillions in assets. Pratik's previous positions at Bloomberg included Engineering Manager for Portfolio & Trade Management, Tech Lead for Trade & Settlement Workflows, Tech Lead for Money Market Trading, and Software Developer in the Buy-Side Money Market Trading team. Prior to Bloomberg, Pratik worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech and completed a Software Developer internship in Fixed Income. Pratik holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
