Tom Orlik

Tom Orlik is the Chief Economist at Bloomberg LP, where they lead economic analysis and oversee a global team. Formerly, they served as the Chief Asia Economist for Bloomberg and headed the Wall Street Journal's China economy coverage. Tom has also worked as a policy analyst at HM Treasury, providing insights to the UK Executive Director at the IMF and World Bank. They authored "Understanding China's Economic Indicators," published in 2011, which serves as a comprehensive guide to China’s economic data. Tom studied at institutions including Harvard Kennedy School, where they earned a Master’s in Public Policy, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specializing in Chinese.
