Alexander Polonsky has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Alexander is currently the Vice President of Research and Development at BLOOM, where they have been working since 2015. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as the Chief Data Scientist at BLOOM from 2015 to 2020.

Before joining BLOOM, Alexander worked as an R&D manager at EPFL from 2014 to 2015, where they managed the development of a platform for understanding and influencing discussions in digital media. Alexander successfully developed models and algorithms for topic classification, opinion analysis, and influence analysis using NLP and graph analytics.

From 2010 to 2014, Alexander worked as an R&D and marketing manager at Mondeca. Alexander co-managed a semantic technology platform for smarter content delivery and oversaw multiple consulting and research projects.

Alexander managed the technological and business development of the iPad ELN, a semantic Electronic Laboratory Notebook, and played a role in software production, launch, and marketing.

Earlier in their career, Alexander worked as a research assistant at Millenium Pharmaceuticals in 1995.
